The Institute for
Terrestrial Integration
Helping interdimensional personnel work, socialize and maintain their current bodies on Earth.
Your assignment deserves support.
Terrestrial postings can be demanding. Customs change by region. Bodies require regular maintenance. Someone will eventually suggest a quick coffee.
Founded in 1968 after the North Atlantic Arrival Survey, ITI studies the ongoing business of being here: maintaining a body, understanding local customs and finding something useful to do on a Tuesday. Cosmic Conference brings the whole delegation into one room.
Presence requires practice. You can retain your wider perspective while learning where the recycling goes.
Meet your support departments.
Houses the Working Group on Persistent Embodiment. Studies the gap between what residents say and what they mean.
Turns field incidents into reassuring handouts. Prior experience of eternity does not count toward contact hours.
Advises on boundaries, borrowed objects and appropriate portal placement. Access and permission are separate systems.
Helps personnel become regulars somewhere. You may attend without being interesting.

For your first week here.
Standing near the refreshment table and saying hello counts. A second question is encouraged.
“Let’s circle back” rarely requires an actual orbit. An email is usually sufficient.
Water, rest and a chair solve a surprising number of terrestrial incidents.
Earth is a long-term posting.
Cosmic Conference is one evening in a much longer institutional undertaking. Beyond the assembly: field research, resident orientation, a reading room and several departments still sharing one kettle.

Colleagues,
Our records indicate that many of you have been conducting your Earth assignments independently. Some have mistaken this for a requirement.
On October 31, please report to Entelechy. There will be an opportunity to compare findings, demonstrate a skill and discover which of your colleagues has also been pretending to understand mortgages.
For the duration of the assembly, dancing constitutes fieldwork. A conversation that changes your evening may be recorded as a significant result. You are not required to explain your entire cosmology before saying hello.
Research has requested observations. Community has requested that you come. Compliance has requested that nobody take these requests as permission to touch anybody.
Please attend in the body you have. Replacement bodies will not be issued at reception.
